Generally speaking, the principles and approaches which form the basis of mainstream teaching are entirely appropriate for the planning and delivery of language support. However, there are a number of routines which are particularly important for successful language learning/teaching and these are highlighted in the following pages. This section is intended to provide additional support to teachers, both in implementing the activities described in this book and in designing and developing their own activities and materials.
